All my boys went to school for their respective first days yesterday. There were very few tears--even from Philip, who has rejoined the ranks of junior high. Interestingly enough, they were all dressed in royal blue. A handsome bunch, I'd say.
Classic papa-son pose.
Below is the path we walk to school. It begins almost directly across from our house!

One Year Old!
It's official: Seba turned one today. We celebrated with some friends in our new place. Yay! Many loud shouts in all directions. Except for Seba, from whom there was no shouting. No crying either, apart from when he bonked his head on the wall. Other than that, totally cool with many people and lots of attention.
You can see it in their eyes: 7 year olds are a special breed. Just enough sense to recognize and create a whole lot of nonsense. But, you know, this yard of peril is the perfect match for them. See below.Happy New Home!

L.A. Boys
The title, "L.A. Boys," was Oliver's suggestion. He came out whilst we were taking photos of Seba in OP's Angels hat. Initially, he wanted the hat back right away, but as soon as he saw how cute Seba was in it and how much fun he was having he decided to join the project. He went to his room and came back with his Dodgers cap. He said to papa, "take a picture of us and post it with 'L.A. Boys.'" So here is the post with accompanying photos.

New Tricks!
Riding the truck--with close supervision, of course. (At this age Oliver was already riding one-handed and wielding the other in victory or neighborly greeting. Seba is a bit more reserved.)
Endless fun with the baby in the mirror. Any mirror works, even this lightweight play mirror, which results in fantastically distorted versions of our beautiful baby. It's no matter to Seba; he loves the baby every time.
Smiling through the pacifier. He has honed this skill to a fine art. A favourite family game is to get him to laugh or to smile so much that the pacifier falls out.
(He's also a great traveler! This photo was taken in a hotel on the road.)
